A new series of events organized by ISF for the business community. The first edition of Business Smart Education (BSE) was a resounding success.

Specialists from banks and insurance companies, as well as business leaders, had the opportunity to sit at the same table with representatives from the Institute of Financial Studies (ISF) and the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) during the first Business Smart Education (BSE) event, which focused on "The Impact of Financial Education on the Business Environment: Opportunities for a Sustainable Business."

The workshop held in Brașov on September 12 reaffirmed ISF's commitment to promoting financial education in Romania, including by facilitating communication among the stakeholders involved in this complex process.

ISF's partners in organizing the event were the Financial Supervisory Authority, the Bucharest Stock Exchange, the Romanian Banking Association, the National Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies of Romania and Pro Afaceri Romania.

The event was attended by 60 participants from the business community in the Brașov area, as well as from Târgu-Mureș, Cluj-Napoca, and Bucharest, who showed interest and sought information from the attending specialists.

The topics covered included: BVB (Bucharest Stock Exchange) – An Opportunity for a Successful Business, The Role of Banks in Supporting the Business Environment – ESG and Smart Investments, and The Importance of Business Insurance.

"Through such events, ISF, together with its partners, aims to enhance the level of financial education among the population, as well as among entrepreneurs and company managers, to align with European Union standards," said Mr. Marian SIMINICĂ, Executive Director of the Institute of Financial Studies. Alongside him, the event also featured Mr. Cătălin Câmpeanu, ISF Deputy Director, who moderated the introductory session and two of the panels, and Mr. Ieronim Ștefan – Coordinator of the Financial Education Department at the Institute.

Mr. Remus Dănilă, representative of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, emphasized that both the public and companies are increasingly interested in the organization and functions of the capital market with investors seeking information on how to buy or sell shares on the Exchange.

Ms. Gabriela FOLCUȚ – Executive Director of the Romanian Banking Association and Ms. Emilia Dîrstaru – Regional Director for SMEs, Raiffeisen Bank, discussed the role of banks in supporting the business environment.

A high level of interest was generated by the ASF module – ESG and Smart Investments. The speakers for this panel were Mr. Cosmin Păunescu – Head of the Prudential Supervision Service, SIIF, and Mr. Răzvan Popp – Head of the Transparency and Reporting Service for Issuers.

The panel organized by the National Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies of Romania (UNSAR) which was also very important, focused on the importance of business insurance, presented by Ms. Alina Bărbulescu – Property & Casualty Insurance Specialist at UNSAR.

ISF will offer a free personal finance course – Money Management, for 5 people from each company present at the event.
